Şimdiye kadar pek çok başarılı Hollywood filminde rol alan Julia Roberts, bu başarısını aldığı ödüllerle de kanıtlıyor adeta.Gerek Oscar, gerekse de Altın Küre ödüllerinde birkaç kez " En İyi Kadın Oyuncu " ve " En İyi Yardımcı Kadın Oyuncu " seçilen Roberts, 2001 yılının Altın Küre Ödül Töreninden de eli boş dönmedi. Son olarak bir Steven Soderbergh yapımı olan " Erin Brockovich "( Tatlı Bela ) filmiyle karşımıza gelen aktris, filmdeki rolüyle, drama dalında " En İyi Kadın Oyuncu " ödülüne layık görüldü.

2001 Oscarları'nda da " En İyi Kadın Oyuncu " ödülüne layık görülen aktris, filmde usta oyuncu Albert Finney ile birlikte başarılı bir tablo çizmişti. Güzel yıldız,film hakkında: " Erin beni çok etkilemişti. Mücadelesine çok büyük bir saygı duyuyorum toplumumuzda evli olmayan pek çok anne var. Herkes bir şeylerin mücadlesini veriyor. Bence onlar birer kahraman. " diyerek filmin hikayesinden çok etkilendiğini belirtiyor.

Atlanta'nın arka mahallelerinden birinde dünyaya gelen Roberts'ın çocukluğunun pek parlak geçtiği söylenemez. 4 yaşındayken annesi ile babası ayrılan aktris, 9 yaşındayken de babasının kansere yenik düşmesine şahit oldu. Yeni, genç yüzlerin Hollywood sinemasını istila etmesi ile rakipleri ile dişe diş bir mücadeleye giren Roberts, Denzel Washington ile başrollerini paylaştığı " The Pelican Belief " ( 1993 ) ile beklediği başarıyı yakalayamadı. Hollywood'un en pahalı kadın oyuncusu unvanını elinde bulunduran Julia Roberts tahtından indi.

Genç yıldız Reese Witherspoon, 29 milyon dolarlık ücretiyle sinemanın film başına en çok ücret alan aktrisi oldu.

İnternetteki 'imdb' sitesinin haberine göre, 'Bu Nasıl Sarışın' filmleriyle tanınan ve bu yıl 'Walk the Line' adlı filmle Oscar'a aday gösterilen Witherspoon, 'Our Family Trouble' adlı yeni korku filmi için 29 milyon dolar ücret alacak.

Bir süre önce doğum yaparak ikiz bebek sahibi olan Roberts, 'Mona Lisa Gülüşü' adlı filmden aldığı 24 milyon dolar ücretiyle Hollywood'un en pahalı oyuncusu unvanına kavuşmuştu.

Oscarlı oyuncu Julia Roberts, 'Yağmurlu Üç Gün' adlı oyunda sahne aldı.

Roberts'ı Broadway'deki ilk oyununda Hollywood'dan arkadaşları da yalnız bırakmadı.

ABD'li oyun yazarı Richard Greenberg'in 'Three Days of Rain' adlı Pulitzer adayı eserini sahneleyen ekipte Roberts'a Paul Rudd ve Bradley Cooper eşlik ediyor.

Oyunda, babalarından kalan miras ile ilgili problemlerini çözmek üzere iki kardeşin ve bir çocukluk arkadaşlarının macerası anlatılıyor.

Oyun başlamadan saatler önce Jacobs Tiyatrosu'nun önünü dolduran kalabalık oyun çıkışında da yerlerindeydi. Julia Roberts ve rol arkadaşları çıkışta uzun süre gazetecilere ve hayranlarına poz verdi.

Açılış haftasında Julia Roberts'ı ön sıralarda izlemenin fiyatı 999 dolara kadar çıktı.

Kasım 2005'te satışa sunulan biletlerin çoğu tükenmiş durumda. Oyun 18 haziranda son kez sahnelenecek.

Robets, bebekleri Hazel Patricia ve Phinnaeus Walter'ın doğumundan sonra ise kariyerine bir süre ara vermişti.

Oscarlı oyuncu Julia Roberts'ın Broadway'de sahnelenen 'Three Days of Rain' adlı oyununun 18 hazirana kadar olan tüm biletleri tükendi.

BBC'nin internet sitesindeki habere göre, büyük ilgiyle izlenen yapıtın biletleri 250 dolara kadar çıktı ve temsilin 18 hazirana kadar olan tüm biletleri satıldı.

Eserin her temsilinin ardından tiyatro kapısı Roberts'ın hayranlarıyla doluyor ve ünlü yıldız kulisten ayrılana kadar kalabalık dağılmıyor.

Bir aşk üçgeni üzerine gelişen ve yönetmenliğini Joe Mantello'nun üstlendiği oyunda Julia Roberts'a Bradley Cooper ve Paul Rood eşlik ediyor.

İkiz bebeklerinin doğumundan sonra sanat çalışmalarından uzak kalan ve 19 nisanda ilk kez seyirci karşısına çıkan Julia Roberts'a, 'Oceans 11' ve 'Oceans 12' filmlerindeki rol arkadaşı George Clooney ise bir şaka yaptı.

National Enquirer'ın haberine göre, 'Three Days of Rain' adlı oyunun prodüksiyon asistanlarından biriyle anlaşan Clooney, onun aracılığıyla 12 sayfadan oluşan metin değişikliğini oyundan kısa bir süre önce Roberts'a gönderdi.

Bu metnin yönetmenden geldiğini zanneden yıldız, ''bir düzine sayfayı bir saat içinde yeniden nasıl ezberlerim?'' diyerek yönetmenin kapısını çaldı.

Ancak meşgul olduğunu öğrenen Julia Roberts, öfkeyle soyunma odasına döndü.

Bir süre sonra kapısı çalınan Roberts karşısında, ''rolünü henüz ezberleyemedin mi?'' diye soran George Clooney'i buldu.
