bu gidişle ikinci sayfaya çok yakında geçeriz.Bu sabah karşı BBC'de büyük çapta başarı kazanmış filmler hakkında bir program vardı(sanırım böyle birşeydi program çünkü İngiltere'de çok büyük hasılat yapmış filmleri verdiler.İçlerinde Aşk ve Gurur'da vardı.İngiliz halkına sorulmuş ve oylamalar ona göre yapılmış.Aşk ve Gurur en iyi uyarlama dalında listenin zirvesine oturdu.Keira ve Joe ile ayaküstü bir röpörtaj yapmışlar.Çok eğlenceliydi, gerçi çokda kısa bir programdı.Belki bu akşam tekrarını verirler.

Özenle katlanan bembeyaz masa örtüleri...
Aniden çıkagelen bir misafir için darmadağın odayı toplama telaşı...
Sonra karakterler:
Anneleriyle didişen, babalarıyla dertleşen, hemcinsleriyle yatağa bağdaş kurduğunda sabahlara kadar doludizgin söyleşen kızlar...

Orta sınıfın üst sınıfla ilişki tarzı; Gurur ve Aşk!

“Aşk ve Gurur” romanı, adından da anlaşılacağı gibi aşk üzerine kurulu olsa da kolay bir aşk değil Elizabeth Bennet ve Fitzwilliam Darcy arasındaki yakınlaşma. Çünkü farklı sınıfsal yapıları ve farklı toplumsal ilişkileri olan bu iki gencin evliliğinin önüne pek çok engel dikilir. Hepsinden önemlisi, Darcy, Elizabeth’in ailesinin basitliğini küçümsemekte, Elizabeth’in gururu ise kendisine tepeden bakan Darcy’nin evlenme teklifini kabul etmeye el vermemektedir. Hikaye, olaylardan çok roman karakterleri arasındaki duygusal gel gitler, iyiler ve kötüler arasındaki çatışmalarla ilerler ve mutlu bir sonla noktalanır. Sadece Elizabeth ve Darcy değil, Bennet ailesinin diğer iki kızı da evlenmiş ve mutlu olmuşlardır. Bir tek Elizabeth’in yakın dostu Charlotte için kaygılanırız. Çünkü evde kalma korkusu ile Charlotte, daha önce Elizabeth tarafından reddedilen hem budala hem de kibrinden yanına varılmayan papaz William Collins ile evlenmek zorunda kalmıştır.

Jane Austen’in pembeli beyazlı dizilerin ya da Yeşilçam melodramlarının atası sayılabilecek bu romanı, bir toplumsal gerçekliğe vurgu yapması ve hatta böyle bir toplumsal meseleye kendi dönemine göre fazlasıyla cüretkar yaklaşmasıyla, başlattığı geleneği taklit eden popüler anlatı türlerinden çok farklıdır. Austen’in amacı zengin oğlanla fakir kız arasındaki aşka indirgenemez. Farklı “içtimai mevkiler” ama mutlu bir son o yılların İngiltere’si için tahayyül bile edilemezken yazmıştı hikayesini Austen. Siyasi bir tavrı yoktu ama insani açıdan bu tarz farklılıkların saçmalığını, toplumsal değer yargılarının ardındaki iki yüzlülüğü anlatmaya çalışıyordu.

“Gurur ve Aşk”ı da kapsayan ilk dönem romanlarında mizahi bir üslubu vardır Jane Austen’in. İngiliz romanının başlangıç yıllarında oldukça ilgi gören bu tarz anlatım, Sheakspeare’den başlayarak toplumu hicvetmek için iyi bir silahtı. Zaten “Gurur ve Aşk”ın çatışma bölümleri, Elizabeth ve Darcy’nin karşılıklı konuşmaları, yazarın çok sevdiği Sheakspeare oyunlarına göndermelerle doludur.

Dar bir çevrede geçen ve Avrupa’yı sarsan siyasi sorunlardan, savaşlardan, ekonomik sıkıntılardan uzak duran Austen romanlarının başarısı, bu dar çevrede yaşayan insanların kıstırılmış dünyalarını ve boyun eğmiş ruh hallerini çok iyi yansıtmasından gelir. Büyük kentin büyük insanlarının yanında, taşranın basit hayatının yavanlığı ve önemsizliği kabullenilmiştir yazar tarafından. Romanlarındaki karakterler de hikaye içerisinde bu gerçeğe teslim olurlar. Böylece “Gurur ve Aşk”ın mutlu sonu buruk bir mizaha dönüşür.

Dar bir çevrede geçmesine rağmen, Jane Austen romanlarına yönelik oldukça “geniş” değerlendirmeler de yapılıyor. Edward Said’in “Kültür ve Emperyalizm” incelemesinde yazarla ilgili görüşler, bir edebi ürünün, o ürüne yönelik okuma biçimleriyle nasıl başkalaşabileceğini sergilemesi açısından dikkate değer; “ Fazla küçük bir mekanda net göremez, net düşünemez, gerektiği türde düzenleme yapamaz ve dikkat gösteremezsiniz. Austen’ın ayrıntılarındaki incelik, toplumsal ilişki kıtlığının, yalnız yaşanan dar kafalılığın, ufalmış bilincin, daha büyük ve daha iyi yönetilen mekanlarda giderilen tehlikelerini büyük bir şaşmazlıkla veriyor” diyen Said, Jane Austen’ın romanlarının dar bir çevrede geçmesinin, emperyal iktidarın meşruiyetini onaylayan bir bakıştan kaynaklandığını söylüyor. “ Austen, ülke içindeki otoriteyle uluslararası otoriteyi en net biçimde burada eşzamanlı kılmakta ve kiliseye kabul edilme, hukuk ve mülkiyet gibi yüksek konularla bağlantılı değerlerin, somut toprak sahipliği ve toprak üstündeki egemenlik temeline sıkı biçimde oturtulması gerektiğini açıklığa kavuşturmaktadır”.
