Konu: Interpol ajanı (Clive Owen), büyük ölçekli bir mali kurumun, uluslararası silah kaçakçılığı şebekeleriyle olan yakın bağlantılarını açığa çıkarmaya cüret eder.

1998 yılında yazıp yönettiği ‘Koş Lola Koş’ (Lola rennt) filmiyle tüm dünyada büyük beğeni toplayan Alman yönetmen Tom Tykwer, 2002 yılında Polonyalı efsanevi sinemacı Krzysztof Kieslowski’nin senaryosu ‘Cennet’i (Heaven) sinemaya aktarmıştı. Ülkemizde geçen yıl gösterilen ‘Koku: Bir Katilin Hikâyesi’ (Perfume: The Story of a Murderer) filmiyle Patrick Süskind’in ünlü romanını başarıyla görselleştiren Tykwer, yeni filminde Hollywood’un iki büyük yıldızı Clive Owen ve Naomi Watts’ı buluşturuyor. ‘The International’ın çekimlerinin büyük bölümü Almanya’da gerçekleştirilirken, film ekibi Eylül ayında birkaç günlüğüne İstanbul’a da uğramıştı.

Alman sinemasının daima sıkı işlere imza atan yönetmeni Tom Tykwer, merakla beklenen yeni filminin oyuncu kadrosuna Naomi Watts ve Clive Owen gibi yıldız oyuncuları kattı.

The International, ajan Owen'ın uluslararası kimliği olan bir bankadaki yolsuzlukları ve diğer karanlık olayları araştırmasını konu edinecek.

Ünlü ajan araştırmaları esnasında güzel asistan savcı Naomi Watts ile işbirliği yapacak. Filmin senaryosu Eric Singer'a ait.
