Branagh artık klasik müzikle ilgileniyor

Beyazperdenin klasik eserlere düşkün oyuncularından biridir Kenneth Branagh. Özellikle Shakespeare’e olan hayranlığı ile tanınan ünlü oyuncu Hamlet ve Othello’yu sinemalara taşımıştı. The Hollywood Reporter’ın bildirdiğine göre Branagh’ın yeni hedefi beyazperdede Mozart…

Mozart’ın ünlü The Magic Flute (Sihirli Flüt) operasını beyazperdeye taşımaya karar veren Branagh bu sefer başrol oyuncularını Hollywoodlu starlar arasından seçmemiş. Opera dünyasının yıldız isimlerinden beşine başroller çoktan dağıtılmış.

Joseph Kaiser, Ben Davis, Rene Pape, Lyubov Petrova ve Amy Carson’ın rol alacağı filmde, Kaiser’i Prens Tamino ve Davis’i de Prensle beraber Prenses Pamina’yı kötü güçlerin elinden kurtarmak isteyen Papageno olarak izleyeceğiz. Carso’ın prenses kılığına bürüneceği filmde Sarastro rahip, Petrova ise gecenin kraliçesi olarak karşımıza çıkacak.

Biyografisi : 1960 Belfast doğumlu olan Kenneth Charles Branagh 23 yaşında Royal Shakespeare Company’ye katıldı ve ‘Henry V’ ve ‘Romeo and Juliet’ oyunlarında başrol oynadı. Daha sonraları Royal Shakespeare Company’yi çok büyük bulan Branagh, Renaissance Theatre Company adıyla kendi tiyatrosunu kurdu. Branagh, 23 yaşında ‘Henry V’i yönetti. Filmde daha sonradan eşi olan Emma Thompson’la birlikte oynadı ve Henry V karakterini canlandırdı. Bu film, Branagh’a ‘En iyi erkek oyuncu’ ve ‘En iyi yönetmen’ dallarında Oscar adaylığı getirdi. 1993’te yeni bir Shakespeare uyarlamasıyla yönetmen koltuğuna oturan Branagh, Danzel Washington, Keanu Reeves ve Emma Thompson gibi yıldızların rol aldığı ‘Much Ado About Nothing’i çekti. 30 yaşında otobiyografisini yazan Branagh, 34’ünde bir Mary Shelley uyarlaması olan ‘Frankenstein’i (1994) yönetti. Branagh, Robert De Niro’yla başrolünü paylaştığı filmde Victor Frankenstein karakterini canlandırdı. 1995’te, Thompson’la boşanan Branagh, 1996 yılında Shakespeare’in ‘Hamlet’ini beyazperdeye uyarladı, yönetti ve başrolünde oynadı. Biography: Kenneth Branagh was born December 10, 1960 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Ken is the second of three children born to William and Frances Branagh. In 1969, the Branagh family left Ireland and settled in Reading, England. In 1979, Ken attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. After finishing his education he joined The Royal Shakespeare Company and began his stage career, winning several awards and critical acclaim for his portrayal of Henry V. He later left the R.S.C. to form his own theater company "Renaissance." This new venture was quickly succesful and enabled Ken to direct, produce, and star in his own productions. While working on so many of his own projects he continued to work on other television and film productions. Ken made a film version of Henry V which became a huge success, earning him numerous awards and two Academy Award nominations. Branagh met his first wife Emma Thompson when the two filmed the BBC mini series "The Fortunes of War." Branagh and Thompson became known as "The Royal Couple of British Film." Their marriage ended after 6 years. Following his divorce, he made a film version of Hamlet and recieved great critical acclaim for the four hour long motion picture. Since then, he has continued his successful carreer working in films, television, and theater. His most recent project is the highly regarded production of "The Play What I wrote" in London.

Gerçek yaşından daha genç gösterdiğini düşündüğüm oyuncudur kendisi. Onu da birçok yetenekli oyuncu gibi(Alan Rickman, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, David Thewlis, John Hurt..vs) Harry Potter serisinde keşfettim. Ama yine de yönetmenliğini oyunculuğundan daha başarılı bulurum hep. İlerleyen Harry Potter serilerinde karşımıza çıkması muhtemeldir ama film versiyonlarında görür müyüz bilmiyorum....
