* Çekimlerde tam 6 saat makyaj koltuğundan kalkamadım. Makyözler beni yaşlandırırken annemin fotoğraflarından yardım aldılar.

Kate Beckinsale tam bir sinema aşığı... 'Oltada Balık Çantada Keklik', 'Pearl Harbour', 'Aviator' ve 'Karanlıklar Ülkesi' gibi filmlerle üne kavuşan Beckinsale, yönetmen kocası Len Wiseman ile mutlu bir evlilik sürdürüyor. Son olarak kocasının yönettiği 'Underworld: Evolution' filmiyle beyazperdede olan güzel yıldız, son yılların en pahalı senaryolarından birine sahip olan 'Click'te, Adam Sandler'ın eşi Donna Newman karakterini canlandırıyor. * Komedi bana hiç yabancı değil. Babam Richard Beckinsale, İngiltere'nin en tanınmış komedi oyuncularındandı. Ama babamı taklit ettiğim düşünülmesin diye başta özellikle komediden uzak durdum.

* Bu filmdeki oyuncu kadrosu bir harika. Adam Sandler, Henry Winkler ve Julie Kavner çok yetenekliler. Hepsi benim gerçekten ailem gibi oldu.

* 'Click' filmine başlarken endişelerim oldu çünkü oyuncu kadrosundaki herkes çok yakın arkadaştı, ben sanki erkekler kulübüne girmek isteyen bir kadın gibiydim.

ANNELİK ÇOK ÖNEMLİ
* Filmde oynadığım karakter Donna Newman çok iyi bir eş ama işkolik bir kocaya sahip. Kocası onun beklediği ilgiyi ona gösteremiyor. Gerçek hayatta başıma böyle bir şey gelse boşanırım, Donna kadar sabırlı değilim!

* Oyunculuk benim için çok önemli ama hayattaki en önemli şey anne olmak.

* 'Click'ten sonra bağımsız bir yapım olan 'Snow Angels'da David Gordon Green ile çalıştım. O filmde, küçük kızıyla yaşayan dul bir garsonu canlandırdım.

Ülkemizde de geçtiğimiz hafta gösterime giren başrollerini Kate Beckinsale, Adam Sandler ve David Hasselhoff'un paylaştığı 'Click' filminin İngiltere prömiyeri Londra'da yapıldı. Gecenin güzel yıldızı Kate Beckinsale'e Adam Sandler ve filmin yönetmeni Frank Coraci eşlik etti.

''Ben zayıflamak uğruna sağlığımdan oluyordum.Bugün 8 yaşındaki kızım Lilly'ye vücuduyla barışık olmasını ve sağlıklı beslenmesini öğütlüyorum.Onun da benim gibi cehaletinin kurbanı olmasını istemiyorum.''

Sarışınların kol gezdiği sinema dünyasında o bir kumral, Amerikan kültürünün kalbinin attığı Hollywood'da bir İngiliz, güzellikle kafayı bozmuş ünlüler arasında bir entelektüel. Dahası incecik vücudu ve mükemmel yüz hatlarıyla seksi değil soğuk bir güzel Kate Beckinsale. Ya da en azından üç yıl önce başrolünü oynadığı 'Underworld' filmine kadar öyleydi. Ancak Hollywood'daki ilk çıkışını 2001'de 'Pearl Harbor' filmiyle yapan 33 yaşındaki oyuncu, 2003'te daracık ve siyah deri giysiler içinde, elinde silahıyla savaşan seksi ve karizmatik vampir Selene olarak karşımıza çıktığında yepyeni bir imaj edindi. 'Underworld' onu Hollywood'un vamp kadınları arasına soktu. Dahası vampirler ile kurt adamlar çevresinde asırlardır süren savaşı ve bu savaş içinde düşman türlerden iki gencin aşkını konu alan kan, şiddet ve aksiyon yüklü 'Underworld' onu bir aksiyon filmi yıldızı da yaptı. Ama 'Underworld'un Kate Beckinsale'in hayatında yarattığı değişim kariyeriyle sınırlı değil. Filmin çekimleri sırasında 10 yıldır birlikte olduğu ve küçük kızı Lily'nin de babası olan İngiliz aktör Michael Sheen'den ayrıldı güzel yıldız. Bir yıl sonra da bu film sayesinde tanıştığı 'Underworld'ün yönetmeni Len Wiseman ile evlendi; kocası ve yedi yaşındaki kızı ile Los Angeles'a yerleşti. Şimdiyse mutlu aile hayatı ve gittikçe parlayan oyunculuk kariyeriyle Hollywood'da fırtına gibi esiyor. Nitekim Beckinsale bu yıl karşımıza iki yeni filmle birden çıkıyor: Şu sıralar ülkemizde de gösterimde olan ve başrolünü komedyen Adam Sandler ile paylaştığı 'Click' ve 'Underworld'un devamı niteliğindeki 'Underworld: Evolution'.

33 yaşındaki Kate Beckinsale'in hayatında şu sıralar her şey mükemmel. Ancak geçmişi için aynı şeyi söylemek zor. Henüz beş yaşındayken, o zaman 31'inde olan babasını kalp krizi sebebiyle kaybettiğinden, hep genç yaşta öleceği korkusuyla büyümüş ve bu durum hayatında önemli bir travma yaratmış. Kendisini çirkin bulduğundan pek çok psikolojik sorunla boğuşmuş, narin bir kız çocuğu olmaktan kaçıp annesinin ikinci evliliğiyle hayatına giren dört erkek kardeşiyle birlikte sigara içen, küfreden bir erkek çocuğuna dönüşmeyi seçmiş. Ancak üvey kardeşlerinin desteği psikolojik sorunlarını düzeltmeye yetmemiş. Beckinsale 15 yaşına geldiğinde anoreksiyaya yakalanmış. Bir iskelet gibi zayıf hale geldiğinde hastalıktan kurtulmak için dört yıl terapi gören Beckinsale'i kurtaran ise terapiler değil edebiyat olmuş.

Oxford Üniversitesi'nde Fransız ve Rus edebiyatı eğitimi alan yıldız, o dönemde yazdığı şiir ve öykülerle pek çok ödül kazanmış. Sonrasında da yazarlıktan oyunculuğu geçiş yaparak 1993'te bir Shakespeare klasiği olan 'Much Ado About Nothing / Kuru Gürültü'nün Kenneth Branagh'ın yönettiği film versiyonunda ilk rolünü almış.

Oyunculuk alanında sonraki adımlarını zaten biliyorsunuz. Onu 'Pearl Harbor'da, ürkütücü film 'Van Helsing'de ve Leonardo DiCaprio ile kamera karşısına geçtip Ava Gardner'i canlandırdığı Martin Scorsese filmi 'The Aviator'da izledik. Ama hiç şüphe yok ki, Kate Backinsale'i yıldızlaştıran film, bunlar değil 'Underworld' oldu. 'Underworld' aynı zamanda vampir ve kurt adam gibi gizemli ve fantastik yaratıkları, aksiyon ve macerayı seven sinema izleyicisinin kült filmleri arasına girmeyi da başardı. Dolayısıyla devamının gelmesi kaçınılmazdı.

ZOR BİR SEVİŞME

Bu hafta ülkemizde gösterime giren 'Underworld: Evolution'da Kate Beckinsale bir kez daha seksi deri giysiler içinde çıkıyor karşımıza. Üstelik bu kez filmde aksiyon çok daha fazla. Bu filmde dövüş sahneleri artan Beckinsale, 'Yönetmenin kocanız olması bazı sorunlar yaratıyor; Len çekimlerde başıma bir kaza gelecek diye çok korktu' diyor. Kamera arkasında kocasının olması bir başka konuda da gerginlik yaratmış: 'Sevişme sahnesi çekilirken önce çok gergindim. Ama ailece görüştüğümüz rol arkadaşım Scott Speedman için bu durum daha zordu. Kocam seyrederken benimle sevişmesi gerekiyordu ve resmen cehennem azabı yaşıyordu. Onun bu kadar gerilmesi benim üzerimdeki yükü aldı ve böylece bu sahneyi ben ondan çok daha rahat oynayabildim.'

Artık aksiyondan uzaklaşmak istediğini dile getiriyor Kate Beckinsale. Nitekim komedi filmi 'Click' ile yeni denizlere yelken açmaya girişti. Ufukta başka yeni projeler de var. Şu sıralar bir drama olan bağımsız yapım 'Snow Angels'ın çekimlerini sürdürüyor ve ilk aşkı edebiyata geri dönüp bir de roman yazmayı planlıyor.
