tabiki başka oyuncularında etkisi var..bunu kim inkar edebilirki..biz yok demiyoruzki..dünyanın neresinde hangi filmde film tek kişi üzerine kurulu!biz sadece şunu söylüyoruz ve sonuna kadar haklıyız wıll giderse yerine başkası gelir onada alışılır elizabeth giderse(ki ben elizabeth i çok seviyorum.jack lede çok yakıştırıyorum..gönül ister gitmesin)yerine başka bir kadın bulurlar onada alışırız ve hatta belki daha çok severiz..ama jack olmassa karayip korsanları olmaz!!reyhan filmi jonny götürüyor derken bunu söylenmek istedi!sanırım bunu sende kabul edersin aklın yolu bir çünkü!

Johnny Depp and AT WORLD'S END on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT!

Viewers of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT were treated to a feature on PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END during the broadcast on Wednesday, April 25th--one month before the official release of the film in North America. Brief interviews with the leading actors, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and writers Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot were intercut with clips from the movie, including some brilliant new footage. After a shot of Captain Jack Sparrow pronouncing himself "the last pirate," Johnny Depp assured the interviewer that "Captain Jack Sparrow definitely rises up to the occasion" in AT WORLD'S END. "It's amazing--unbelievable," said Johnny. "I'm very excited to see how it's all going to match up."

According to ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, "The stars are back, and judging by these new scenes, uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and his writers have really topped themselves." Keira Knightley confesses, "There is a certain amount of guilt Elizabeth feels about the whole Jack situation," no doubt referring to her character's sleight of hand with the handcuffs at the end of DEAD MAN'S CHEST. The look on Captain Jack's face when Elizabeth asks, "Oh, will you never forgive me?" is alone worth the price of admission. EXCLUSIVE: Lee Arenberg Talks Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Source: Shmuel Reuven


Getting into his character of Pintel, working with Keith Richards, and the future of the franchise!

The third installment of the trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End hitting theaters next month; it's likely to bring closure to most of the story lines left open in the previous two Pirates films. I say most of the story lines because JewReview.net sat down with one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, Lee Arenberg, one of the Black Pearl's very own residents, Pintel – and one of the two comedians on the ship (along with Mackenzie Crook's Ragetti).

We talked about becoming part of the series, returning to shoot the second and third movie together, working with Keith Richards, Johnny Depp, and director Gore Verbinski, as well as the continuation of the series. Of course, not wanting to give away too much information, Lee was nice enough to spill a couple of details about At World's End and the future.

What's it like getting on the set and putting on the make-up? Do you become Pintel, or are you still Lee?

Lee Arenberg: I must say, fortunately, this role is one I can approach pretty technically. And so the transition of that make-up, which after 300 times of doing it, takes a little over an hour. My guy, Joel Harlow, is one of the most talented dudes on the whole set; he's a jack of all trades on the artist side, and he's been my guy for all three pictures. It was a lucky break to have that consistency and the artistry of what he does – the placement of the scar - throughout the process. Sometimes the make-up thing can be where you just sit there and take it, like a Star Treky thing. But with Pintel, you've got to stretch the skin, and it's little participation bits; you've got to move your chin, you've got to stay locked in in that make-up, which is cool. Because when you stay there for an hour and you see that transition in the room, you're there. And the very last thing you do before we do a take is the teeth; there's nothing of Lee left. As long as my sounds sound like something from over there, I'm ok; I'd always run my lines by the other cast members, Mackenzie or (Kevin) McNally. After the first movie, I was on my own and I trusted them; it's not that easy, especially when you have to ad-lib something. There's something about those 'a' sounds, like 'father' or the word 'last;' it doesn't sound right to me, so every time I would say it, it'd be like 'clink, clink, clunker, clunker.' To be able to do it enough times that your minds ear gets it; you really do have to nestisize your ears to the sound – (in his Pintel voice) 'Pintel, he's real convoluted, you know, at all times.' And if I had to say those lines, ten times through, I'm good at identifying each one; you see my line, I re-write it above it on the page – 'i' becomes 'oy,' 'time' becomes 'toyme.' And every time, it's not pretty, but my script looks like that; when I'm reading it in my mind, I'm reading the phonetics, I don't memorize the words – 'rain' – 'rayn.'

What's it like working with Johnny Depp?

Lee Arenberg: Johnny Depp is one of the greatest actors for his talent, his intellect, his choices, and also just his look – he's got the 'ace face' to back it up; if you're going to call bullsh*t, you're a good looking man. He always says the fans are the boss of him, and he works for the fans; I think it was really interesting to me. One of the things about him that was so magical about him on the first one, Curse of the Black Pearl, was here you have one of the greatest actors – although corky and probably many of the audience hadn't caught many of his pictures, or if they saw him, he was under scissorhand make-up or a pretty elaborate make-up job; to see him there, just nailing a character - in a way, very few actors in film actors ever have. There's very few actors nominated for Oscars for a comedy; it's Chaplin-esque. It's legendary, it's like Bob Beamon jumping three feet farther than anyone. The studio didn't want to do it because they were afraid of the sexuality of his character, they didn't know what to make of the teeth thing; but he sees three steps ahead. The romantic pirate is like a rock and roll star, so I'm going to base my character on my favorite rock and roll star, Keith Richards – and put in a little Pepe Le Peu for the kids.

What about Keith Richards?

Lee Arenberg: When I met Keith Richards on P3, he reminded me of a modern f*ckin' pirate, he really did; his bodyguard, Bill, was the real Pintel. Here's a guy from South London, the dialect I'm trying to pull off; he's my size, bald, stocky, and he works for a Pirate – he is Pintel. And he was paired up with a New York dude, but he was doing a double act too. So the parallels that Johnny sees, allowed for the rest of our success. A magical thing happened when all that came together.

What was that like to see him on set?

Lee Arenberg: So cool; when I first met him, it was the best! He was in the make-up trailer and I just poked my head in there; I wanted to see Keith Richards. Johnny was in there doing a make-up test on him. I was dressed as Pintel, and he looked at me and busted into this Cheshire fat grin smile – he goes to Johnny, 'Johnny, there's another one!' And that made me feel so good; he was such a great addition, if nothing more than a breath of fresh air. Obviously, he busted everyone's balls – this is Keith Richards; he really is a cool dude, and a legend for a reason. He's super smart, real charismatic, and it's a different circus than he's part of – that rock and roll circus. It was interesting of the two circuses locking up, just to hear his manager – the way we work, and he works hard too, in just one burst of artistic energy, where ours is sustained. We have a lot more people than a rock show, but they're still there. I don't want to give it away, but he is very cool – and just to be in the scene. That's what we always checked in the first version of P3, we figured out where his part was going to be and make sure Mackenzie and I were always in that scene. But to me, it was more of his cameo was more of a kudos for Johnny – Johnny's work, Johnny's love. His wife, Patti Hansen, she's gorgeous; she made me blush – and it's hard to make Pintel blush. The kiss from Keira, that's about it; his whole life, the guy's never blushed and Patti Hansen did it, too.

Seeing Johnny and Keith next to each other as father and son, was it almost trying to figure out who the dad was and who the son was?

Lee Arenberg: What's interesting is the dynamic – how we act around Johnny is how Johnny acts around Keith. It was more about him hanging out outside Keith's trailer like the rest of us poor shmucks – it was pretty neat. That's the great thing, Johnny's layer of humanity; he sees himself as a regular dude with a superstar gig. I don't think he buys into his own bullsh*t either really; he's got a beautiful family, and it's given him a different perspective. When his daughter came to the set on the first one, he was worried she'd be scared of the pirates, but she loved them – the nastier, the better and that's what was another good kudo for the project.

Will we see more of the Pirates?

Lee Arenberg: I hope there's more of them out there; I would want to think so. There's always a possibility of them making a Pintel and Rigetti movie; I would want to do it, I love the characters. I always have thought these guys are the classic double team; it's two actors brought together by a physical difference. Luckily for Mackenzie and I, they were looking for sexy and sexy – cause they got that right! Two highly hot, sexy men cast together. He's such a great guy, I love the chance just to get to hang out with him and work; his acting sensibility matches mine. We were assigned to become really good friends off the first movie, and fortunately I'm loud, he's quiet; he's smart, I'm not – that kind of thing, it's a nice combo. Those things, you can't take any of that luck, that magic for granted. But when they get it right, they get it right; and the investment of a half a billion dollars, or whatever it is, to invest in a couple more movies – they made it on the first one. Both movies (2&3) are paid for from the success of the first.

Tickets for the May 19 World Premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and Make-A-Wish International have sold out in just 14 days, it was announced today by The Walt Disney Studios.

The $3 million goal - in celebration of the third Pirates adventure - was set forth just two weeks ago. Disney started things with a donation of more than $1 million. Ticket buyers from countries such as Australia, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Canada and Mexico, and 35 U.S. states including Hawaii raced to log on to www.piratespremiere.com and purchased tickets to the event at $1,500 apiece. Ticket buyers making the trip to Anaheim next month for the event include a family from Chicago, where the father is having his kids volunteer at a children's hospital so they can fully appreciate their tickets. A doctor from Canada is sending her mother as a thank you for working multiple jobs to put her through medical school. A soldier currently serving in Iraq is sending his parents from Oregon to let them know he loves and misses them.

Commenting on the announcement, Dick Cook, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios, said, "Disney is dedicated to making dreams come true, and now we're joined by 'Pirates' fans from all over the world who are making a difference through their generous support and participation in this event. The Studio is extremely excited about 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End,' and we are looking forward to a spectacular premiere to give the movie the send-off it deserves, while also touching the lives of so many children and their families."

The Walt Disney Company is making wishes come true for children all over the world by donating 100 percent of the ticket proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and underwriting the entire cost of the event. Walt Disney Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Films' Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End World Premiere will take place on May 19 at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, with all of the film's stars expected to participate.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Over the past 25 years, Disney has continued to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, contributing more than $10 million in cash and in-kind donations on an annual basis. With more than 6,000 wishes granted each year, including visits to the Disney Parks, Disney Cruises, meeting Disney Characters and visiting TV and movie sets, including Pirates of the Caribbean films, Disney-themed wishes continue to be the most popular requests from wish kids.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End picks up where the record-breaking 2006 smash hit left off, with our heroes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) allied with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in a desperate quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his mind-bending trap in Davy Jones' locker. ON THE SET
'Pirates' aims for the real thing
In a digital age, the third 'Caribbean' movie is full of actual stuff.

UNDER a high, hot September sky, Disney Studios has clearly surrendered. Deep in the heart of the back lot, all those striding, BlackBerry-monitoring employees give way to denizens of a different sort. Pirates of every hue, hair configuration and state of personal hygiene. Pirates in velvet, silk and leather. Chinese pirates and African pirates, French pirates and Arab pirates, 150 of them all told, some rock star, some scurvy dog.

They are gathered for a rare meeting of the Brethren Court at dark and dangerous, and geographically indeterminate, Shipwreck Cove.

If, on this scandalously fine autumn day, these particular pirates appear to be milling rather than marauding — lounging about outside Soundstage 2, eating lunch, talking on cellphones — it is just an illusion, a rip between worlds. Reality lies within. Step inside.

Many movie sets are, to an outsider, disappointing. The cameras, cables and other equipment easily dwarf a house or an apartment, even a hotel, leaving only the smallest nest of space in which the actors must perform. A castle high atop a hill can turn out to be cleverly painted scrims in front of a blue screen, the exteriors shot from teeny-tiny models.

But no one would call the Shipwreck Cove set from "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," opening May 25, disappointing. Which is a very good thing. The third installment in the wildly successful Johnny Depp franchise, "World's End," is, to put it mildly, highly anticipated. The first two have grossed almost $800 million domestically — not bad for a narrative arc based on a theme park ride. Inside a cavernous soundstage (previously flooded and used for the treasure cave and bayou scenes in the first two "Pirates" films), amid steam and smoke and flame, there are, of course, a forest of cameras and monitors, cables and sound equipment and lights, not to mention all the people who work them. But they are barely noticeable next to the ships.

There are ships for every sort of pirate, the prows of which cut through the darkness, bedecked with women and dragons, with gilt and barnacles. There are half a dozen full-scale partial models, behind which runs a 300-foot hand-painted background scrim depicting more ships in various sizes and perspectives. In the middle of it all is a great and splendid wreck, the meeting place of the pirate lords and home to Capt. Teague Sparrow, keeper of the Pirates Code, who clearly shares some sort of bloodline — and certainly a stylist — with Depp's Capt. Jack Sparrow.

Teague, of course, is played by Keith Richards, who left the building only the previous day. In his stead is a very likely photographic stand-in, all flapping hair and hands and lurching entrances.

Also on deck are Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush, reprising their roles from the previous films, as well as an alarming assortment of multicultural pirate lords (including a new character played by Chow Yun-Fat) as they seek, in this installment, to rescue Cap'n Jack, who has been eaten — but apparently not digested — by the monstrous Kraken.

In the light of 500 flickering candles, they discuss pirate matters and make accusations and threatening proclamations, while beneath them floorboards creak, around them costumes rustle and clank, and above them rigging exudes a distinctly tarry odor.

Outside the ring of filming, crew members wander by, some with Cap'n Jack pirate locks, a few with "Livin' the ride" T-shirts. An assistant director warns everyone to move away from the metal tubes that stand here and there around the ship. "In a few minutes, those are going to burst into flame," he says.

"We really need a cone or something here," says one crew member as one person after another, apparently not hearing the bit about fire, brushes closely past the tubes. "I'll stand here. I'll be the cone."

BIG ON THE SMALL STUFF

IT is a whole other world, mere minutes away from beautiful downtown Burbank, a parallel universe conjured out of wood and foam and paint, where meticulous detail — real cannons bouncing on real wood, real velvet shredded and burned to look ancient — anchor the fantasy and make it real.

That willingness to sweat the small stuff paid off. "We had no idea how well No. 2 was going to do," says production designer Rich Heinrichs with a laugh. "If we'd known, we wouldn't have worried quite so much about the budget for 3."

Not that anything was done on the cheap. Director Gore Verbinski never wanted a blue screen extravaganza — he wanted real pirates, real ships, real tempestuous seas (which he got during a famously difficult shoot in the actual Caribbean).

"He has a lot more environmental approach to sets," says Heinrichs, who worked on the last two films of the trilogy. "We were always creating a world beyond the camera because we want people to believe that there is another world out there.

"It is unusual to do so much," he adds. "My hat's off to Gore for wanting to go this far. With fantastical things, you have to be grounded in reality."

"I've done some big movies in the past," says Chow, who plays a pirate lord, "but walking onto the 'Pirates' set was like walking into a ride at Disneyland. Everything was built with so much detail. The steam baths had real working steam, and the old fishing village came complete with a market, huts, bridges and even boats that moved through the set they filled with water."

This is only one of a series of sets that have consumed the lives of the "Pirates" team for years. Universal Studios Stage 12 recently housed Singapore, complete with ocean and a town with 11 full interiors, while in Palmdale three full-scale ships on gimbals tossed and turned in a warehouse that once sheltered the Space Shuttle.

THE FANTASY'S REALITY

ORLANDO BLOOM, with two fantasy epics under his sword belt now (his first being "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy), found life on the lavish set exhilarating and exhausting.

"It gives you a frame of reference," he says. "Puts you in a situation, which is especially important in an action adventure where you might be waiting around for a shot to be set up and then you have to suddenly be very intense and in the moment. Atmosphere is very important. The blue screen is much more … challenging."

But physically detailed sets have their drawbacks too; weeks in cavernous gloom or on rain-lashed decks can leave one grateful for things like sunshine and automobiles.

"It's incredibly hard work," Bloom says. "In Palmdale, it was raining all the time. We all got sick once or twice. It was brutal. I've spent five years of my life on this, most of my adult life, and it's quite nice to return to the modern world."

In Shipwreck Cove, however, conditions are, with the exception of the tubes of fire, ideal.

"The lighting's always tricky for these period films," says Heinrichs. "You don't want it to look fake, but you have to see."

His answer here was to have set decorator Cheryl Carasik make 3,000 candles, most with double or triple wicks. The anchor-shaped chandelier Verbinski wanted (the size of a real anchor) required 60 candles alone with removable wax drips — Verbinski wanted long drips in certain scenes but not in close-ups, so Carasik had two on-set dressers torching candles pretty much continuously, just to get the proper drips.

"And you had to be careful," she says with a laugh, "because the fire department is picky, and the set was made of foam."

Carasik, who worked with Heinrichs on the previous "Pirates," reveled in the creation of a whole other world, finding period bottles from companies catering to Civil War re-creations and creating more than 700 barrels without the modern strapping. The huge carved table around which the pirates gather in Shipwreck Cove is a work of art. Literally. The centerpiece of the scenes shot there, it was made by the Disney prop department. "They said, 'We can do it, but it's going to cost you,' " says Carasik. "And it did." Between $30,000 and $35,000, she estimates.

The huge painted scrim too was a decision based on the marriage between fantasy and reality the film requires. Most cinematographers aren't huge fans of scrims because usually they can be lighted only from the front, Heinrichs says. But for this movie, he chose a painting over a blue screen because it creates a Maxfield Parrish-like reality. "More picture than photograph," he says. "And this one we can back light in certain places."

Some early sets were pulled apart and used, in some form, several times — the rum locker of the Black Pearl became the brig of the Flying Dutchman, and the floorboards of Shipwreck Cove came from the Singapore set.

Many of the sets remain, in one form or another — while the Shipwreck Cove sequence was shooting, Disney officials were giving tours of a Black Pearl set housed nearby to corporate partners. Pieces of some will be used at the various premieres and the rest is in the warehouse, ready to go should there be another "Pirates" movie.

"It was such an amazing experience," says Carasik. "I have no idea what I'm going to do next. What do you do, really, after you've done 'Pirates of the Caribbean'?"

"Working with Johnny is incredible"--EMPIRE Magazine interviews Keira Knightley about PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END

In preparation for the coming release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, Keira Knightley was interviewed by EMPIRE "to discuss all things Trilogy." Keira is full of praise for all her colleagues and calls director Gore Verbinski "a hero," but she expects this to be Elizabeth Swann's foray into the pirate world: "I can't imagine them doing another PIRATES," she tells EMPIRE, "but never say never. I hope if they did, they'd make some different costumes!"

Asked to describe working with Johnny Depp, Keira replies, "Working with Johnny is incredible. I think he's one of the most talented actors of his generation and seeing him work and create the character is really extraordinary. He takes risks. He's not one of those actors who's like, 'well, this is what my fans would like' or anything like that. He really pushes boundaries and that's an extraordinary thing for a young actress to see. I remember seeing him play Captain Jack for the first time and everybody went, 'what is he doing?' But he was like, 'this is the way I'm playing it!' I love the fact he creates. That's very inspirational. And as a person, he's lovely. I like [him] very much. "

And what was it like to work with rock 'n' roll legend Keith Richards? "Keith was only there for three days, but he was great," says Keira. "Obviously after the first film everybody knew that Johnny had done his characterisation of Keith, so it was really lovely to have him come in and do the cameo. He had a hat, a feather and dreadlocks. It was great. I thought he was very nice. [. . .] He did a great pirate 'aaaaaar!' Actually, that was the only thing he said to me. I said, 'Hi I'm Keira' and he went 'Aaaar!'" A charming moment . . . .

"It's great not to have a diva:" Geoffrey Rush talks about PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END and Johnny Depp < <

Oscar-winning actor Geoffrey Rush, otherwise known as the nefarious Captain Hector Barbossa, recently spoke to Australian critic Mark Bierne about his return to piracy in AT WORLD'S END. Asked if Barbossa, who was a villian in the first film, can now be trusted, Geoffrey Rush replies: "[C]ertainly the implication from that cliffhanger ending on part two is that out of all of the people you want to bring back from the dead to help rescue Jack from being eaten by the beastie, Barbossa's not the best guy to do it. They're sworn enemies," he reminds us.

Asked if the atmosphere on-set was as light-hearted and jovial as what shows on screen, Rush says, "We've been doing this on-and-off now for four-and-a-half years so there's a tremendous camaraderie between all of the departments. The actors don't just spend time amongst themselves; you spend a good part of the day with the make-up team, the stunt guys, the expert marine department who are ferrying you there. Someone like Johnny is a great team leader," says Rush. "It's great not to have a diva. It's great to have someone who's very laid-back, very playful . . . he's probably the only person who dares to ad-lib. A lot of what he throws in makes it into the final mix. Jack Sparrow is some crazy part of Johnny's brain."

Geoffrey Rush states that his favorite films to make are those with large, talented ensembles--his turn as beleaguered impresario Philip Henslowe in the Oscar-winning SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE stands out as a favorite role. And his favorite actors? "I've been pretty lucky for a middle-aged character actor," confides Rush; "my leading ladies have been Cate Blanchett and Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron and Kate Winslet. And Johnny Depp, we've been together for four-and-a-half years now on these films; he's one of the great character actors in a leading man's body who constantly surprises himself and his audience with his capabilities and imagination."

The BRETHREN COURT meeting has just adjourned. PIRATE LORDS are filtering out of the large hall; all but two. JACK SPARROW and ELIZABETH SWANN remain seated at the table, each lost to their own thoughts. ELIZABETH makes a sound of frustration and crosses her arms, stubbornly trying to steady her quivering lips. JACK fiddles with his COMPASS.

ELIZABETH: I wasn't lying when I said I was sorry, you know.

JACK [still focused on the compass]: Oh come, now, darling, you know you just said that to get that black mark off your record.

ELIZABETH: Black mark?! Jack, I meant what I said!

JACK: Really, now? Because, if I recall correctly, the last thing you said to me before you sent me to that godforsaken place completely, utterly, and unquestionably contradicts that statement.

ELIZABETH: Jack... I...

JACK: No worries, luv; I don't need a map to see where your allegiances lie.

ELIZABETH's frustration has hit the brim as she stands quickly from her chair, which tumbles backward. She puts her weight forward on the table, menacingly.

ELIZABETH: I sailed for half a year over larger swells than even you have encountered! I allied with the very pirate who tried to kill me, and worked under his order! I bloody risked my life to save yours, Jack!

JACK: And why would that be, luv?

ELIZABETH: I just... I... I have no idea. [clearly lying]

JACK[leaning forward from his end]: The fact of the matter is, pet, that I not only risked my life to save yours... I bloody gave it away.

ELIZABETH is silenced.

JACK: Did you ever care to think on that? That perhaps, I might just be more than just another man on your growing list of victims to love?

A beat.

ELIZABETH: ...What did you say?

JACK: ...Absolutely nothing.

ELIZABETH leans closer, eyes focused on him.

ELIZABETH: Jack...

The two almost kiss, when Gibbs bursts through the door, causing them to revert back to their pirate selves

GIBBS: Both of you! Ye'd better be gettin on out to the docks soon or else your crewmen'll sail off without ye. And that, I'd bargain, wouldn't be a pretty sight.

JACK nods and proceeds to walk towards the exit. ELIZABETH hesitates for a moment.

JACK SPARROW and ELIZABETH SWANN remain seated at the table, each lost to their own thoughts. ELIZABETH makes a sound of frustration and crosses her arms, stubbornly trying to steady her quivering lips. JACK fiddles with his COMPASS.

ELIZABETH: I wasn't lying when I said I was sorry, you know.

JACK [still focused on the compass]: Oh come, now, darling, you know you just said that to get that black mark off your record.

ELIZABETH: Black mark?! Jack, I meant what I said!

JACK: Really, now? Because, if I recall correctly, the last thing you said to me before you sent me to that godforsaken place completely, utterly, and unquestionably contradicts that statement.

ELIZABETH: Jack... I...

JACK: No worries, luv; I don't need a map to see where your allegiances lie.

ELIZABETH's frustration has hit the brim as she stands quickly from her chair, which tumbles backward. She puts her weight forward on the table, menacingly.

ELIZABETH: I sailed for half a year over larger swells than even you have encountered! I allied with the very pirate who tried to kill me, and worked under his order! I bloody risked my life to save yours, Jack!

JACK: And why would that be, luv?

ELIZABETH: I just... I... I have no idea. [clearly lying]

JACK[leaning forward from his end]: The fact of the matter is, pet, that I not only risked my life to save yours... I bloody gave it away.

ELIZABETH is silenced.

JACK: Did you ever care to think on that? That perhaps, I might just be more than just another man on your growing list of victims to love?

A beat.

ELIZABETH: ...What did you say?

JACK: ...Absolutely nothing.

ELIZABETH leans closer, eyes focused on him.

ELIZABETH: Jack...

The two almost kiss, when Gibbs bursts through the door, causing them to revert back to their pirate selves

GIBBS: Both of you! Ye'd better be gettin on out to the docks soon or else your crewmen'll sail off without ye. And that, I'd bargain, wouldn't be a pretty sight.

JACK nods and proceeds to walk towards the exit. ELIZABETH hesitates for a moment.

ELIZABETH: Jack! I'm sorry...

The Pirates of the Caribbean films have beaten some amazing soundtracks – Raiders of the Lost Ark, Superman, Gone With The Wind to name but a few. And the tracks that beat POTC are amongst the finest soundtracks ever created.

Pirates IV Rumor: Fuel on the Fire

The Internet is full of speculation and theories on the Pirates franchise and whether or not it will continue after the third installment. It's no secret that Johnny Depp has stated his interest in keeping the character of Jack Sparrow alive as long as the storyline remains strong. Apparently he's having as much fun as we are.

That said, I have it on good authority, granted from one source, that filming for Pirates IV is scheduled to begin in August with Depp on board. According to the source Bloom and Knightley will not return. Again, this line of rumor is all over the Internet with various takes on the characters and story possibilities. Be warned should you decide to follow-up on this that there are some potential spoilers floating around out there. Be ye warned says I.

yourMovies: Barbossa was the villain in the first "Pirates" movie, but in the second he became an ally. Can he be trusted?

Geoffrey Rush: Well spotted! You'll need to see all of the various chess moves that happen in part three to fully satisfy that answer. But certainly the implication from that cliffhanger ending on part two is that out of all of the people you want to bring back from the dead to help rescue Jack from being eaten by the beastie, Barbossa's not the best guy to do it. They're sworn enemies. That forms the premise of one of the many key plots that dominate the third film.

yM: Details of the third movie are top secret - what can audiences expect to see?

GR: "Pirates 2" and "3" were always conceived with one huge story arc, with that cliffhanger interval - the presumed death of Jack Sparrow followed by Barbossa's resurrection. To be honest, because it is one huge story, a lot of what happened in "Pirates 2" was putting down the pipe-work for the kinds of dramatic payoffs that are going to happen in the third film. As I was going through the screenplay, I thought "My God, every seven pages there's some phenomenal new action sequence that comes out of the storyline or flips the story into another dimension". The big set pieces the fans are looking forward to, as well as the convolutions and permutations of the character conflicts, are there in force.

yM: The "Pirates" movies are very tongue-in-cheek - was the atmosphere as light-hearted on the set?

GR: We had a hefty schedule on our hands because they're big films, and just the logistics of shooting out at sea means you look at the daily call sheet and [realise] you're 30 miles out at sea, I've got to get up in the dark and go out in a dinghy on very rough seas to get to the location - and then spend two hours in make-up. Of course we've been doing this on-and-off now for four-and-a-half years so there's a tremendous camaraderie between all of the departments. The actors don't just spend time amongst themselves; you spend a good part of the day with the make-up team, the stunt guys, the expert marine department who are ferrying you there. Someone like Johnny is a great team leader... it's great not to have a diva. It's great to have someone who's very laid-back, very playful... he's probably the only person who dares to ad-lib. A lot of what he throws in makes it into the final mix. Jack Sparrow is some crazy part of Johnny's brain.

yM: What are the main differences between a Hollywood blockbuster of this nature and movies you have filmed in Australia?

GR: It's a question of scale and attitude. If you work for Disney, which is one of the big studio conglomerates in the business machine that is Hollywood, there's a different kind of heritage and attitude. Most of what we make in Australia are much smaller scale, independently produced films. Being on a film like "Candy", the scale of it is just smaller - the aspirations may be as great, but you have a crew of 20, whereas on "Pirates" some days we would have lunch for 700 people. "Pirates" costs an extraordinary amount of money because of the nature of the CGI, actors, large numbers of people.

yM: You have played such a range of unique characters in your career - do you have a favourite?

GR: Not particularly. I always look very fondly back on "Shakespeare in Love" - again, it had a large cast. When I was promoting that film, I said it was the party of the year. It was a very funny, very lively set because all those guys who were playing Shakespeare's acting troupe were all fine actors in their own right and some of them fresh out of drama school and they were frisky. That's the one that I hold great affection for. A film like "Quills" and "Peter Sellers" - big companies, lots of actors. "Peter Sellers" particularly because we would have the Charlize Theron section of the shoot for two-and-a-half weeks and then Emily Watson would turn up and then Stanley Tucci and Stephen Fry... just great, great actors to work with.

yM: What about a favourite actor you have worked with?

GR: I've been pretty lucky for a middle-aged character actor; my leading ladies have been Cate Blanchett and Salma Hayek and Charlize Theron and Kate Winslet. And Johnny Depp, we've been together for four-and-a-half years now on these films; he's one of the great character actors in a leading man's body who constantly surprises himself and his audience with his capabilities and imagination.

yM: Is "At World's End" the end for Barbossa, or do you hope to star in future sequels?

GR: The decision would be totally in the hands of the Disney executives or Jerry Bruckheimer. Of course if the movie makes a lot of money, they will always consider "Can we make more out of this?" As a business, it's like releasing a new car: if the car works and sells and people like it, they go "Next year we'll make a new model and make it more eco-friendly". But being a film, it then involves the creative people, and if the writers feel they've exhausted the potential of the genre or if Johnny feels he's burnt Jack out... I don't know, it's all speculation at the moment.

yM: Keith Richards is in the latest "Pirates" movie - did you meet him on set?

GR: Yeah. He's done his bit, he has a beautifully presented little cameo. It's quite a big scene in the film, one of the major plots is the conflict between the East Indian Trading Company and Davy Jones versus the Black Pearl. So Barbossa calls together this meeting of the nine global pirate lords - it's a bit like G8 for pirates - and Keith has a role in that scene.

In preparation for the coming release of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END, Keira Knightley was interviewed by EMPIRE "to discuss all things Trilogy." Keira is full of praise for all her colleagues and calls director Gore Verbinski "a hero," but she expects this to be Elizabeth Swann's foray into the pirate world: "I can't imagine them doing another PIRATES," she tells EMPIRE, "but never say never. I hope if they did, they'd make some different costumes!"

Asked to describe working with Johnny Depp, Keira replies, "Working with Johnny is incredible. I think he's one of the most talented actors of his generation and seeing him work and create the character is really extraordinary. He takes risks. He's not one of those actors who's like, 'well, this is what my fans would like' or anything like that. He really pushes boundaries and that's an extraordinary thing for a young actress to see. I remember seeing him play Captain Jack for the first time and everybody went, 'what is he doing?' But he was like, 'this is the way I'm playing it!' I love the fact he creates. That's very inspirational. And as a person, he's lovely. I like [him] very much. "

And what was it like to work with rock 'n' roll legend Keith Richards? "Keith was only there for three days, but he was great," says Keira. "Obviously after the first film everybody knew that Johnny had done his characterisation of Keith, so it was really lovely to have him come in and do the cameo. He had a hat, a feather and dreadlocks. It was great. I thought he was very nice. [. . .] He did a great pirate 'aaaaaar!' Actually, that was the only thing he said to me. I said, 'Hi I'm Keira' and he went 'Aaaar!'" A charming moment . . . .

Akin to a "pirate board," the group includes Feng, Barbossa, Sparrow and five of their fiercest rivals from around the world. They meet in a secret cove where a massive structure of old pirate ships stacked on top of each other forms a man-made island (and yes, it would make a wonderful addition to Disneyland).

Who Will Betray Them?
Meanwhile, it appears one of our gallant heroes will betray the group to save someone close to him or her. This dramatic scene takes place on yet another small sandy island (where do they find them?) in the middle of the ocean. One word: pretty.

It's Keira's Movie
One of the big surprises is just how prominent Keira Knightley's character, Elizabeth, is this time around. She's shown her fighting chops in the first two films, but in this installment, she proves to be an equal (in more ways than one) to Sparrow, Barbossa and her estranged fiancé, Will Turner. Her true feelings for Sparrow and Will are also revealed, and she even ends up bringing some women's lib to the era (in a roundabout way).

Thank God Barbossa Is Back
The last picture, "Dead Man's Chest," has its share of laughs, but there was an element missing without Rush's Barbossa around to verbally spar with Depp's Sparrow. The two acclaimed actors get to go at it in "At World's End," and the series is far better for it. However, I had to wonder why Bruckheimer never showed us why Barbossa is eager to help the crew and his old enemy, Sparrow. Is it possible Barbossa hasn't changed his evil ways?

The Look Is Beyond Fantastic
At more than two hours, "At World's End" is filled with one eye-popping scene after another, and the trailers have only given a glimpse of what's to come. From the scenes we previewed, 500 special-effects shots were missing, but it's clear this installment's effects could top the Oscar-winning work that Industrial Light and Magic conceived for "Dead Man's Chest" (not that Bruckheimer wanted to discuss the Oscars in April).

A Fitting Climax
The movie's final act revolves around a climactic battle between Davy Jones' Flying Dutchmen and the Black Pearl within a massive whirlpool.The trailer only hints at the intensity of the climax, which depicts Jones attempting to reclaim his heart from one of the two ships. When all seems lost though, is it possible the pirates have one last secret weapon up their sleeves?

Stick Around for the Very End
We weren't privy to it, but Buckheimer says there is one additional scene at the end of the closing credits. He also said "this trilogy" is over, but perhaps the extra scene is a hint of more adventures to come.

After watching the footage, Bruckheimer stated the obvious when he recommended anyone seeing "At World's End" catch up by revisiting the first two "Pirates" movies on DVD. Director Gore Verbinski and screenwriters Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio have intentionally brought in numerous elements from the previous films to form an interconnected trilogy. And considering that most movie trilogies usually don't live up to the initial hype, a fantastic finish to "Pirates" would be very welcome indeed.

After they save Jack and everyone is back in the land of the living isn't it interesting that Jack points his pistol at Will and not at the person who killed him?

Ces, I think Jack sees Will as more of an 'equal' now. Kind of down the line of "hey...this guy is catching on to me-my psyche-what makes me tick", per say!!! He knows how I operater-work.

And, maybe to some extent, a threat. Look at the line he says in the 36+ page script when he's on the Endeavour w/Beckett in the Captain's Cabin: Quote-

"You can have Barbossa. The belligerent homunculus and his friend with the wooden eye, both and Turner. Especially Turner."

In the clip where she asks- Do you forgive me? (or will you ever forgive me) and he says No.. it reminded me of the Persuade Me scene. haha He leans forward and makes this funny face. The two of them together are a riot!! If she'd only keep whining/begging/harassing him all movie-- you know Jack is sooo going to cave! Let's have a laugh shall we-- imagine for a moment a Sparrabethy scene of our own creation--
"Forgive me, Jack."
"Listen, Darlin, we've been over this. There'll be no forgivin today. Nor yesterday. It'll be no tomorrow. No. No No. Noooooo!"
"Jack, you called me a pirate! (Elizabeth says the word with some disgust.) "That's not why I did what I did!"

(scoffs) He turned so she now faced his back.
"Perhaps, but you left me no choice. Would you have stayed by your own will?"
"Life is full of choices, Love. Even for pirates, my Pirate," he tossed over his shoulder.
"Jack, you're avoiding the question!"
"Pirate." (this time spoken mockingly) "And I see you're back to avoiding you're true self."
"You can't stand there and honestly say..." Elizabeth now moved to stand in front of him. "You cannot look me in the eye, good man that you are, and say you would have let us all perish?"
Jack stood silent and crossed his arms. He would have done his best to see them to safety, but there was no way he was going to remain on that ship.
"You do understand?" Elizabeth tried to read his face. There was some agreement there, but he was doing his best to hide it. He smiled a devilish grin. "Nevermind all of that- what's done is done, Lass. You came here looking for forgiveness?"
"I did."
"Persuade me." Their eyes locked and she knew what he meant.
"What about Will?" (her voice grew small with uncertainty)
"What does he need to be apologizing for?" Jack whispered in jest, leaning in towards her.
In a moment he stole a soft, gentle kiss. When it ended, he smiled again. "Forgiven!"
Elizabeth was taken aback from what had happened and the abrupt nature of his word of pardon. She hurried off with her thoughts in turmoil. Jack's smile broadened as he watched her disappear into the darkness. Under his breath he spoke with uncharacteristic fondness. "Pirate."

Pirates' Spoils: 'At World's End' Secrets Arrr Right Here
Who cries first in the flick? And who has the wittiest line (it ain't Jack)?

You're hungry for details about "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," so you've gobbled up the features you've found online and devoured the trailer too. But what to do to sate your appetite until the movie opens in wide release May 25?

Not to sound like your high school English teacher, but you could always read the book, you know. Written by T.T. Sutherland, the adaptation hit stores last week, answering all the questions even the most insatiable fan could ask for about the film (see " 'Pirates' Of Singapore? Details From Un-Caribbean 'At World's End' Set").

When medieval mapmakers would chart the world, they'd scrawl the warning "Here Be Dragons" at the edges to highlight the unknown. Only a courageous sailor, indeed, would brave those waters. We tried our best to limit our guide to illuminate some things you already know about and not spoil all the surprises, but we offer the same warning to those who read below: Here Be Dragons.

The Rhymes of the Ancient Mariner

Ah, "Witty Jack." For all its gang-busters' wizardry, the series would be lost without the sublime central performance by Johnny Depp. Savvy? His comical soliloquies represent the best of the movies' whimsy. But while others will go ga-ga over his parlay with Lord Beckett or his speech to the Brethren's Court (some of which has already been seen online), our favorite "Jack-ism" doesn't even come from him. After a particularly brilliant escape by Captain Sparrow, Lord Beckett stands amid the wreckage of his ship. "Do you think he plans it all out," he is asked, "or just makes it up as he goes along?"

Sympathy for the Devil

With nothing less than the future of the open seas at stake, it's no surprise that emotions run high in "At World's End," but bonus points (and a few scoffs of disbelief) if you correctly predicted that the first character to cry would be ... nefarious beastie Davy Jones? It's an intriguing setup for a villain who is given ample back story this time around. Thanks to a visit to his eponymous "locker," we learn where he came from, what his job is, and, most importantly, what betrayal ultimately caused him to cut his heart out to roam the seas forever. "He wasn't always all tentacley?" the pirate Ragetti asks on their journey through the netherworld. "No, he was a man once," Tia Dalma answers. "But he has become a monster."

O Captain! My Captain! (And Captain! And Captain!)

Captain Jack, Captain Barbossa, Captain Jones, Captain Sao Feng ... the "Pirates" movies sure have been a little top-heavy with leaders. Can you stand two more? Both Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner will find themselves the captains of pirate vessels in the film, leading Jack to utter one of his more memorable lines: "Captain? They're just giving the title away now!"

Fool Me Once, Shame on You. Fool Me Twice ...

What would a "Pirates" movie be without shifting allegiances, backstabbing, double-crosses and generally skullduggery? When Will, Barbossa, Jack, Elizabeth, Beckett and Jones meet for a parlay before the final fight, at least two characters are not with who they should be with, and then switch, and are still not where they belong. Confused? Don't be. To discover where everyone stands, remember what they want. Will wants to rescue his father, while Elizabeth wants to assuage her guilt. And Jack? After dying once, Jack wants to become something his character already has in the real world — immortal.

Sing a Song of Singapore

The most anticipated new character might be Captain Sao Feng, Pirate Lord of Singapore, played by Chow Yun-Fat. "He's much like myself," Barbossa tells Elizabeth as both are being led to a meeting with the feared leader. "Absent my merciful nature and sense of fair play."

Not All He's Krak'd Up To Be

To the two or three people out there who root for the boogeyman, sorry, but we won't be seeing the Kraken in "At World's End." At least not in action sequences, that is. But the giant, ship-devouring monster does show up for one memorable scene and winds up serving a purpose after all by convincing Jack to actually attend the Brethren's Council — but not in the way you'd probably think. "The problem of being the last of anything," Barbossa says to Jack as they gaze upon the Kraken, "by and by, there be none left at all."

Oh God, You Devil

We've told you the "where" and the "what" of Davy Jones, but the most important revelation in "At World's End" is the "who." In "Dead Man's Chest," the pirates argue over why he cut out his heart, whether it was because of a woman or because "it was the sea he fell in love with." Can both be right? They can if the woman in question is Calypso, goddess of the ocean, imprisoned in human form since the first Brethren's Council, able to shine favor on men or cast them down into the sea with equal abandon. There are those who think that Calypso should be released to help fight the East India Trading Co. and Davy Jones. Look for her appearance to be one of the more spectacular special-effects shots in the flick.
